About Us

Meet the owner of Enertia Physical Therapy!

Hello and thank you for visiting our website, my name is Danielle Axtell, PT, DPT, and I am thrilled that you are here!

Background

Dr. Danielle Axtell PT, DPT has been a Physical Therapist for over 11 years. She is passionate about working with patients across the lifespan to reduce symptoms, restore function and work in partnership to help people of all ages and abilities explore new physical activities, enhance mechanics and efficiency of movement, and get back to doing what they love.

Education:

Bachelor's in Arts in Dance from University of Washington

Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of St Augustine for Health Sciences

Advanced Certifications:

Competency Certified Pediatric Vestibular Physical Therapist

Co-sponsored by Specialty Therapy Source, LLC and The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)

Comprehensive Vestibular Rehabilitation Certificate through Medbridge

APTA Clinical Instructor Certification

Continuing Education Course Work:
To date, I have spent thousands of hours taking advanced coursework in order to enhance evaluation and treatment methods for both pediatric and adult clients with Vestibular Conditions, as well as those with Orthopedic, Concussion, and Sports/Dance related injuries. This includes many years of dedicated efforts to create a multi-disciplinary Pediatric Vestibular Rehabilitation Program at Seattle Children's Hospital, in order to bridge the gap in skilled assessment and care of this underserved pediatric population.

In addition to her work as a Physical Therapist, Danielle has been a dancer, artistic director, choreographer and educator for over 25 years.  She spent her early adult years founding, directing and evolving her 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit Organization Enertia Dance Company (namesake!) and can often be found in the dance studio or school setting teaching musical theater choreography, creative dance or hip-hop skills to kids and teens. She enjoys remaining deeply connected to her roots at Creative Dance Center and Kaleidoscope Dance Company where she grew up dancing, and has held many roles including dancer, choreographer, teacher and board member.  She also loves participating in events with Seattle Families of Multiples (SFOM), an organization dedicated to community support for families with twins, triplets and higher order multiples. Given a spare moment - you can find her jamming out in her favorite dance fitness classes or looking for a water view when the sun is out.

Outside of Enertia Physical Therapy, you can find Danielle enjoying precious moments and tending to her four young children, attempting to keep up with family, friends, neighbors and spending time outdoors with her loving husband.
